I've spent 14 years working on my first baby, JobsCentral. I co-founded and grew it from a 2-man startup in 2000 to over 150 headcount regionally in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Started as JobsFactory, we focused on campus recruitment and then branched out to high school scholarship and career programmes in 2003; and then mass market programme under JobsCentral in 2006.
I was heavily involved in product development, partnership management, P&L driving, and process design and controls in the finance and HR departments. In 2011, JobsCentral Group was acquired by US-based CareerBuilder. My focus after the acquisition was to integrate the Singapore platforms onto the global platform, continue to grow the topline, as well as to bring the company to the next level: a SaaS player in the recruitment field.
Outside of JobsCentral, I spent time mentoring start-ups via organised networks (eg. SPRING's ACE program in 2008). In 2009, I started investing in some B2C plays. In 2013, I took a short sabbatical to Harvard Business School and completed the General Management Programme.
Currently, I'm an active venture partner and mentor at Entrepreneur First.
